These tools mainly show you details of organic traffic. You get the data of keywords and position of the domain for that keyword in search engines. All these tools also estimate the traffic and traffic sources based on the data available.

SEMRush is my favorite SEO tool and I recommend it to all. this all-in-one SEO tool helps you in finding competitors’ traffic sources. You can search for any domain name and it will show you a list of keywords, keyword position of the domain in the selected source engine, %traffic from that keyword the domain is getting, keyword difficulty metric, CPC, and URL of the page ranking for that keyword. So, you can easily understand what kind of organic traffic the website is getting. With keyword difficulty metric, it is easy to find out a profitable keyword you can pick to use on your website.
SEMRush also has a dedicated traffic Analytics section for any domain, but that costs $200 additional from the basic plan. If you are interested int hat, you can pay. Otherwise getting just organic keyword is enough for you to use.
SEMrush is a free tool but you can get 10 free searches with limited results. Plans start at $99.
SimilarWeb is also a good tool where you can see the estimated traffic and traffic source of any website. So, this is also a good tool to find Competitors’ Traffic sources. When you search for a domain, it shows estimated traffic, average visit duration, bounce rate, traffic by countries and traffic sources. So, you know how much traffic the website is getting from different sources. It also shows details of Referral traffic. If a website has good Referrals traffic, you can understand what websites are driving traffic to your competitors’ website.
The website shows limited data in the free version and you need to pay for getting the detailed data. Pricing is also not clear and you need to contact. They are costly and want you to pay for a year in advance before you go and use them. This is the reason, I don’t recommend paying for Similarweb. The data you get for free is enough for you.
ahrefs is similar to SEMrush and shows similar data. You can use this website to understand the traffic of any domain and find out keywords on which is this website is ranking. So, you can search for competitors’ domain and find out the traffic details of the domain.
Like SEMrush, it also shows search volume, keyword difficulty, CPC, traffic and URL ranking on the keyword. Most people use this tool to find our IPs and external links to competitors.
This is a paid tool and plans start at $99 and you don’t get a free trial. If you want to get a trial, pay for $7 for 7 days.
Serpstat is a cheaper alternative to SEMrush or Ahrefs. The tool shows similar data about a domain. So it becomes really easy to understand the organic traffic of a domain. You can use Serpstat t to find our keywords, search volume, keyword position, CPC and URL.
Serpstat is a paid tool and price starts at $45 for the basic plan.
Spyfu is also a popular SEO tool and it also has a dedicated section to find competitors. It finds out all the keywords used by your competitors and identifies which one is beneficial for you. So, you can use this tool to find beneficial keywords and outrank your competitors.
It starts at $25 a month, that makes it one of the cheapest spying tool in the market.

SERanking is also a good competitor research tool where you discover keywords of any domain and get an estimation of traffic a website is getting. This tool is also similar to SEMRush and shows similar data.
You can see both organic and paid traffic. The data includes keywords, position, search volume, CPC, competition, and URL. It also shows estimated traffic the domain is getting from a keyword. By using the data, you can understand how much organic traffic a website is getting and what is the traffic source.
Alexa uses data collected from Chrome extension to show Monthly searches, Traffic sources, Keywords and website’s traffic rank. This tool shows top keywords, total links, Easy-to-Rank Keywords, bounce rate, and more data. It also shows traffic sources but only organic search data is visible in the free plan. For know social, referral and direct traffic, you need to upgrade to a paid plan. It also shows referral sites.
This website also shows other important data such as demographics and user locations to understand what kind of users are engaging with the competitor’s website. The paid plans let you perform full site and content audits.
Alexa plans start at $9.99/month and it offers a free 7-day trial.
